Some of the UK Literary festivals have combined their strengths during this lockdown period and produced the Big Book Weekend, a long weekend of book events online. Alexander appears tomorrow, Friday 8 May at 11.00am UK time but the event will be recorded and available on their site after the event. Join us for some comfort and laughter.
Shoreham Wordfest is delighted to present Alexander McCall Smith reading at a special event during the national Big Book Weekend, UK which takes place on www.myvlf.com from 8 – 10 May. Our event will start the Virtual Literary Festival at 11am Friday 8 May. Alexander will read from his new novel, The Talented Mr Varg, and will deliver a special message for the Big Book Weekend on behalf of Shoreham Wordfest.

The Big Book Festival is a national initiative led by authors Kit de Waal and Molly Flatt, and is backed by the Arts Council and the BBC. There will be a full programme of author talks, discussions and performances over the weekend. Featured authors include Bernadine Evaristo, winner of the Booker prize, and Jackie Kay.
