Join Alexander McCall Smith at Bedford Modern School, organised by the Bedford Writing Competition.

An evening of warmth and laughter is planned with the much-loved author and global bestseller Alexander McCall Smith, creator of The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency and the 44 Scotland Street series of books.

The evening will comprise:

• Prosecco and canapés reception at 6.30 p.m
• Discussion between Alexander McCall Smith and Stephen Bywater author and Bedford Modern School Head of English, about ‘traditionally built’ Mma Ramotswe, Bertie, Bulldozers and who knows what else!
• Q & A session
• Red Bush tea and book-signing
